You won't die from starvation in Ukraine - do not miss an opportunity to taste traditional Ukrainian cuisine
such as Varenyky (small dough pies with different stuffing's), famous Ukrainian borsch (beetroot soup) with
pampushki (soft rolls soaked in fresh crushed garlic and oil). No visit to Ukraine's capital would be complete
without trying its signature dish - Chicken Kiev - fried chicken breast filled with a buttery garlic mixture.
For the more adventurous people, try some 'Salo' - the locals love it! It literally means 'fat', and as the name
suggests, is cured pig fat. It surely helps with any shot of Horilka!

BISTRO COTE EST
Located in the Radisson SAS Hotel, this is the perfect place for Sunday Brunch. A sumptuous buffet awaits you -
fresh salad bar, sushi bar, wide range of cold meats, seafood and cheeses, carvery and choice of hot entrees.
The desserts are to die for! Champagne, wine, fresh juices and tea/coffee are all included - and there's even a clown to entertain the children.

Traditional Jewish cuisine at its best! Located in Ihorivska St in Podol (just off Sahaidachnoho St).
DA VINCI FISH CLUB
Located not far from St Andrew's church, Da Vinci fish Club is well known for its fine selection of fish and Italian cuisine.
DEJA VU
Located in Bogdana Khmelnytskogo St near the National Opera House, D?j? Vu has a rather unique interior with
motor bikes, aircraft and space equipment decorating the walls. Offering a wide range of International and
Ukrainian cuisine there is also live music each night.
FISH MARKET
Located on the corner of Reitarska and Volodymyrska Streets, not far from St Sophia's Cathedral, the Fish
Market offers the freshest fish in town - flown in every other day from around the world.
GORCHITSA
The perfect venue to have a quiet meal either inside or during the summer months, on the patio. Joel Frantz
and his team offer French cuisine at its best - and very reasonably priced as well.

Located in the city center opposite Bessarabska Market, a popular place for pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes
KHUTOROK
Located on the Dnipro River, Khutorok is famous for its Ukrainian cuisine - shashlyk is cooked over a wood
barbeque and most nights Ukrainian folklore musicians perform. In the summer Khutoroks also operates dinner
cruises on their private motor cruiser - a great way to spend a romantic evening.
MANDARIN
A former Rice Barge, Mandarin Restaurant offers a wide range of Chinese dishes - Peking Duck being a speciality.
The interior design and costumes worn by the staff add a definite oriental flavour to the evening.
Year round the restaurant boasts excellent views across the river.
MAROCANA
Offering not only dishes from Morocco but also international cuisine, Marocana is a favourite with Kiev's elite.
MIMINO
Located in Spasska Street in Podol, here you have Georgian cuisine at its best. Named after the popular
Soviet film, the interior reflects images from the film and the waitresses wear the former Aeroflot uniform.
Many of the products are imported from Georgia - including cheeses, spices, sauces and wine.
Try the traditional khachapuri, or one of the many fresh salads. Shashlyks are prepared on open fires
and other meat and fish dishes prepared in the oven or on the ketsy. Georgian wines are modestly priced
- Saperavi (red) and Tsinandalli (white) come highly recommended.
MYSLYVETS (Hunter)
Located just off Victory Square, this restaurant is a popular haunt for those who appreciate steaks, venison
and other hunting fare. Don't forget to look for the rabbits that roam the floor!
O'PANAS
Located in Taras Schevchenko Park, O'Panas offers a wide range of Ukrainian cuisine at affordable prices.
Staff wear traditional Ukrainian costumes. A great place to have a quick bite to eat or a four-course meal.
PANTAGRUEL
Located next to the Golden Gate Museum, Pantagruel, offers a wide range of Italian cuisine and home made pasta.
During the summer months, try to book a table outside on the terrace - great for people watching!
PECHERA
The interior design of this restaurant is unique as its name 'Cave' speaks for itself and the staff are dressed
like Cave men and Cave women (think of the Flintstones). The menu offers Ukrainian and International cuisine
plus you can order meat and fish to cook on 'hot stones' in front of you.
RUKOLA
Located on the river (a short distance from Dnipro Metro Station), Rukola specializes in Italian cuisine.
During the summer, it's a great to sit outside and enjoy the view of the river.
SAN TORI
Offering traditional Thai and Japanese cuisine you will not be disappointed. Thai Chef Kittiwat Thaosiriphan
is well renowned for his mouth watering dishes. Located in Podol on Sahaidachnoho Street.
SHAFRAN
Traditional Uzbek cuisine at its best. The restaurant interior consists of marquee tents, couches and
with the wafting smells of the hookah pipes, oozes charm of the 'mystical East'! The menu offers a wide
range of salads, pilafs, samsas (try the samsa puff with lamb and spices), mantys (try the Kaganskie
manty with chicken) and kebabs (try the Seeh kebab with veal) and there is also the Samarkandskyy
chicken (grilled with spices) - but don't forget to leave room for desert! Most evenings there is
live music and charming ladies do Eastern dance performances after 9pm. Located just off Lvovska
Ploscha (square).
SSSR
Located not far from the Statue dedicatedMotherland statue, SSSR is open only during the summer months as
you sit outside. The menu offers dishes from all of the former Soviet Union countries. Memorabilia from
this period is also displayed everywhere in this rather unique restaurant.

YAKETORIA
Part of a chain specializing in Japanese cuisine. There are currently four restaurants in Kiev.
Very popular and there is an excellent menu at affordable prices. And…..if it's inexpensive

PUZATA KHATA
Located next to Bessarabska Rynak (market), off Khreshatyk Street in Passazh and in Podol (Sahaidachnoho Street),
here you will be tempted with a wide range of Ukrainian and European home style dishes - including traditional
borsch, varenyky, pancakes, salads plus meat and fish dishes. The system is simple - cafeteria style -
you choose, you pay, you eat Bon Appetit! (Please note that due to its popularity, it can get very
busy at peak mealtimes)
MISTER SNACK
With small restaurants located around the city, its perfect for those who want a
quick sandwich/baguette or soup and salad.
